Did you know that this is the first year that so many of the world’s top fashion designers have decided to leave their mark at the Olympics? We consistently see companies such as Nike and Adidas playing a big role in the competition uniforms. This year the difference is that top designers are collaborating with these athletic wear companies as well as designing opening and closing ceremony outfits.
We have seen all-American designer, Ralph Lauren, leave his mark on Team USA while Stella McCartney, daughter of the ever famous Paul McCartney, has partnered with Adidas to design the Great Britain uniforms. The beautifully stylish team of Italy has been designed by Giorgio Armani and Prada. France’s equestrian team was styled by Hermes. Even Jamaica has employed designer Cedella Marley, daughter of the late Bob Marley, to look their best. What a great perk for these highly disciplined and perfectly trained athletes!

It is a shame the american designer Ralph Lauren did not use American workers to make the outfits.
I agree but hopefully this will be resolved for the next Olympics. This should have been a precedence set many years ago.
